‘Pilakkal’, that was the name of Kottammal junction in ancient time. Peoples were watching politely that Valiya musliyar uppappa was passing through Pilakkal in every morning. People from Kodiyathur and outside were reaching in the presence of Qazhi Musliyar for treatment of their diseases as well as other problems. In olden days, the Mahallu Qazhis are hailed from Ponnani. And their family kept the legacy as Qazhi of Juma Masjid. Their house is formally called as ‘Musliyarakath’.
Janab Abdul Azeez Moulavii take in charge of Kodiyathur Mahallu as followed this legacy. He concentrated mainly on public’s entire progress in information and religious studies. And his other intended works are to take away myth and fairy tales which are incorporated with Islam including Khadiyanism.
He wrote five books related with Jumua Qutuba during 1957 to 1982. After his death, son M.A Abdul Salam has taken in charge as Kodiyathur Qazhi. |
For more than two decades, from 1921 to 1945, Muhammed Abdurahiman Sahib had been a shining star in the national, cultural and social movements in India, especially in the Malabar area. During the short span of his forty eight years of life he had been in jail for nine years. His imprisonment and the opposition that he had to face, both from his own community and from the other political organizations, made him stranger than the other leaders of his time. He was a real hero who always upheld his ideals and fought for his principles.
He is a memorable political leader in the history of Kodiyathur. He born at 1898 in Kodungallur Karukappadath. In 1948 November 23rd, he reached Kodiyathur after a function at Mukkam by boat through Iruvazhinji river. He make a remarkable speech in Kodiyathur Kottamal and passed away from the world during his walk to Manassery after the event. |
