Kodiyathur Panchayath @ a glance
 

panchayathThe erstwhile Kodiyathur Panchayath was formed under 1920 Madras Village Act. Pannicode Panchayath also came to exist according to this act.
Mr. K. M. Mohammed Haji was at helm of the First Kodiyathur Panchayath and Mr. V. M. Unnimoyi Sahib was his counterpart at Pannicode Panchayath. A.M Unnipokku haji, P. Unnipokku, Parayangattu Mohammed Haji, Kolakkadan Mohammed, C.K Ali and Kaladikunnath Unninagan were the other members of the First Kodiyathur Panchayath.

Following ‘Panchayath Unification Act’ in 1960, present manifestation of Kodiyathur Panchayath was formed in 1963, conglomerating Kodiyathur, Kakkad, Kumaranellur villages. Panchayath Election held in this year elected V. M. Unnimoyi as the President of the first unified Kodiyathur Panchayath.

Current Panchayath is being ruled by United Democratic Front under the Presidency of Mr. K. V. Abdulrahiman which was retrieved from Left Democratic Front in 2005 Panchayath Election.
